I have to admit that when I started helping with the kids' poetry slam a few months back, I thought it would be pretty cool and I could teach them a few things. Boy was I wrong. So the kids have been coming up with some pretty cool stuff for the slam. At first they kind of stared at me when the director told them I was there to help them write poetry, but over the past few weeks they've really gotten into it.
