Team Marisa is so supportive and much more successful at getting Marisa getting known than her own record label. How is having a ‘team’ of people who believe in your important?
I think that having a "street team" like Team Marissa is very important to any young or up and coming artist. Having a fan base of loyal supporters is the best PR that someone can have. Word of mouth and the use of internet bulletins to get the word out about a project that someone is doing, or just calling the local radio station to request a song. There are many things that a "street team" can do, besides just buying the products themselves. Also rallying behind the causes that an artist like Marissa has. In the case of Marissa and her street team "Team Marissa" , she knows that "her team" will be behind her no matter what because they do believe in her---totally.:)

It is important because the big companies have so many people that they are trying to market and sell that sometimes the people we like don't get enough promotion. Having a team of people who believe that you are impotant have the ability to bring the soptlight back onto you. It gets the word out to people that may not be aware of that person who could become fans in the long run. Street teams help to build a huge fan base that brings longevity to the career for that person especially when everone on the team is doing their part to promote that person.
